Responsibilities
• Design rigorous domain-relevant questions using your mathematics expertise
• Review AI-generated responses for accuracy, logical consistency, and mathematical rigor
• Provide feedback to help improve AI understanding of mathematical reasoning
• Work fully remotely with a flexible asynchronous schedule
• Contribute approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project
Requirements
• Doctoral student or graduate, including those currently enrolled in a PhD program or in postdoctoral positions in Mathematics or closely related fields
• Strong background in advanced mathematical reasoning, proof writing, and formal logic
• No prior AI or technical experience required

Overview
Handshake is seeking Math PhDs to support AI research through flexible hourly contract work. You will use your advanced mathematical training to evaluate AI generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand mathematical reasoning, proof construction and technical problem solving. This is an ongoing project based opportunity that can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work or industry employment.
